As we move towards having a new campus, one thing will remain the same: Our Kids Team! We wanted to take this opportunity to introduce the people who greet, love, and teach your kids about Jesus week after week!
Rayanne Champoux- Kids Assistant Director
Hi! My name is Rayanne Champoux, and I am deeply grateful to be a wife to an incredible man for nearly eight years and a mama to four wonderful children. The Lord has been so faithful to our family as He has continued to reveal more of who He is to us. I began my motherhood journey at a young age, and looking back, I can see how present God has been in every season, even in moments when I didn’t recognize it at the time. Our family loves spending time in God’s beautiful creation, whether that’s camping, hiking, or simply being together in our backyard. I love sewing whenever I have the time. Before my grandmother went home to be with the Lord, she lovingly taught me, and those moments remain some of my most treasured memories. I hope to one day pass that same love and tradition on to my daughter. I am continuing my education in Child Development and feel grateful for the ways God allows me to use what I am learning in my role at HDC, and in my everyday life. While I am excited to keep growing in my education, I am also prayerfully choosing to slow down, cherish my family, and hold close these precious moments while they are still at home.
I have always had a strong passion for teaching children God’s Word and learning how to genuinely connect with them. When the Lord brought this role into my life, everything I had walked through before suddenly made sense. God, in His perfect timing, had been preparing me step by step for this calling and for this mission at High Desert Church. Over the past three and a half years, it has been a true privilege to serve alongside this incredible team. During this time, the Lord has grown and stretched me in ways I could have never imagined. My love for our Creator has deepened, and my passion to lead a team that faithfully teaches children the Word of God has only continued to grow.
My heart is to serve our amazing volunteers, support our faithful coordinators, and partner with our growing families so they feel equipped, encouraged, and confident, having the tools they need to allow God to be alive and active in their everyday lives. It is such a joy to witness God’s children come together on Sunday mornings to learn about community, God’s love, and the truth of His Word.
The Apple Valley Kids Team is truly just that, a team. We work together, we grow from one another, and we intentionally allow God to lead us. It is a true privilege to be part of a team that loves like Christ. I am excited to continue growing alongside this team as we move forward into this new season at the Apple Valley Campus. I have full confidence that God will continue to guide us as we follow where Christ is leading.
Jamie Parker- Lead Elementary Coordinator
Hi! My name is Jamie Parker, and it is my privilege to serve as the 2nd–6th Grade Lead Coordinator for our Apple Valley campus. I first attended HDC as a fourth grader, and I still remember walking into the library with my sister, filled with excitement for what awaited us. The memories of sitting in a small group and playing games are still deeply ingrained in my mind. I grew up attending church off and on, but I have been consistently attending HDC for the past five years. I attend Saturday night services at our Victorville campus with my amazing husband, Brandon. We have been married for almost two years, and I have been so blessed to experience the love of the Father through him and the way the Lord has allowed us to walk through life together.
Before joining staff, I volunteered with our 5th–6th grade girls at the Victorville campus. That season was incredibly impactful, allowing me to grow closer to God and witness His goodness at work in the lives of the kids in our ministry. During that time, I earned my degree in Religious Studies, along with certificates in Child Development. As a Coordinator, I now get to use what I learned in school to help the children in our ministry grow and know the Lord more each week.
Sundays are my favorite day. They are the days kids come to play with Legos, worship, build friendships, and read God’s Word. As kids are checked into the library or the Preteen program, I am always in awe of the connections that form within our Kids ministry. These past few months have been especially meaningful, as each weekend brings us one step closer to our new home. I know the staff can feel it, the leaders can feel it, and the kids can definitely feel it. This new campus will allow us to go deeper with our Kids ministry and create new memories, just like the ones I still hold from my own childhood experience in the program.
Lastly, the heart of our Kids ministry is the leaders who faithfully show up week after week to lead our kids toward Christ. I would not be able to serve in the role I do without them. From welcoming kids into their rooms, playing with them, and hearing about their weeks, to most importantly pouring into them spiritually, their dedication is incredible. I am so grateful for each of them and pray that every week our kids feel the love, care, and commitment their leaders have for them.
Felicia Rose- Early Childhood Coordinator
Hi! My name is Felicia Rose. I grew up primarily in the lower desert with my mother, stepfather, two stepsisters, and a half brother, and I am the oldest of four. After graduating from high school, I moved to Apple Valley to live with my aunt and uncle while attending beauty school. I have been a hairstylist for nearly 30 years and, in just under the past year, have also begun serving as a fitness instructor at a local fitness studio. I have been married to my husband for almost 30 years and am the mother of two adult children and a proud grandmother of two sweet toddlers.
Having been raised in a non-Christian home, I have been deeply blessed with the opportunity to raise my children in a Christian home. We were able to watch them grow through the children’s ministry and student ministry, participate in mission trips, and serve alongside me in the children’s department from the ages of seven through seventeen. It has been a joy to now bring my granddaughter to church and watch her participate in children’s ministry as well.
I have attended HDC for the past 24 years and have been part of Children’s Ministry for over 24 years, with 20 of those years spent on staff. I began serving in children’s ministry after recognizing the importance of those who serve so families are able to attend church and children can be cared for in a safe, nurturing environment, which inspired me to serve others in the same way.
I currently serve as the ECM Coordinator at the Apple Valley campus. In this role, I value the opportunity to guide and coach volunteers, support parents, and assist leadership as needed. My heart is to lovingly guide children to know and love Jesus, while also encouraging and coming alongside our volunteers and ministry leadership.
Kathy Otto- Early Childhood Coordinator
Hi! My name is Kathy Otto and I am blessed to serve as an ECM Coordinator since 2013. I have attended HDC since 1991.
I grew up in OR, but moved to the high desert after three years of teaching in Tonopah, NV in 1985 where I secured a teaching position in Hesperia. I then took a teaching position with the Apple Valley School District where I remained until my retirement in 2018 after teaching 36 years at the middle school level. One of those teaching years was in Dakar, Senegal, West Africa. I took a year of leave to serve on the mission field to teach at Dakar Academy where I taught English to 7-12 graders. That was definitely a year of growing and maturing in the Lord!
An opportunity arose to be a coordinator on our Apple Valley HDC campus in 2013. At the time, I needed a job where I would have Social Security taken out of my pay check. So I accepted the position. But at the time, it was a job, not a heartfelt serve ministry to me. I have since grown and matured in my walk with the Lord. Now, I see my position as a God-orchestrated blessing! It is a privilege to serve with my Apple Valley co-workers, volunteers, parents and their children. What began as a short-term job, has become a God-blessed service for Him! I praise God for His goodness and faithfulness!
Kimberly Page- Early Childhood/ Preteen Coordinator
Hi! My name is Kimberly Page, I am so grateful to have been part of our AV kids ministry team over the past 1.5 years! I am a third grade teacher and graduated from the Master’s University in 2023. I have attended HDC my whole life and the Apple Valley campus since its opening 15 years ago. When I moved back to the desert after college, this position helped me build community at church. I am so grateful for all of the volunteers that poured into me when I attended our kids ministry program. It’s been a sweet full circle experience to now help shepherd our families and volunteers!
It has been a blessing to connect with our volunteers and see their heart as they pour into our HDC kids. It’s been a joy to see how serving is one of the ways that makes our big church feel small. Sharing the gospel with kids and teaching them about the Bible has been a growing season in my own walk as I work to own what I am teaching. I have had the privilege to have seen the Lord’s faithfulness and provision over so many years. I’m so excited to see how God continues to work as we move to the new campus!
Jesse Flores-Neuman- Elementary Coordinator
Hi! My name is Jesse Flores-Neuman, and it has been a blessing to be on staff with the kids team. I have been serving in the kids’ ministry for about five years and have the privilege of stepping into the kids coordinator role for about five months. I have been attending HDC for a little longer than that. Throughout that time, God has continued to shape my heart for serving and helping.
I have always felt called to be in positions where I can support, encourage, and lead with purpose, and kids Ministry is where that calling comes to life for me. Building relationships with kids, families, and our team brings me so much joy, and my heart for the ministry is rooted in seeing others grow, both spiritually and personally.
Kylie Page- Seasonal Early Childhood Coordinator
Hi! My name is Kylie Page and I am so grateful to be a coordinator at HDC. I grew up attending children’s ministry at the Apple Valley campus and getting to pour back into the same ministry that I learned so much from is such a gift. I see it as a huge blessing to be able to work with children, share the gospel, and watch it enter their hearts and minds. I love getting to support our volunteers and walk alongside them as they grow in their walks with the Lord. Being a coordinator has allowed me to give back to the church and the volunteers and continue on making an impact on kid’s lives.
